Job Progression Tool sparks progress for job seekers who have skills and experience but lack a four-year degree, toward more resilient, in-demand occupations with wages above the national median.

The Job Progression Tool was developed by McKinsey & Company, on behalf of the Rework America Alliance, to spark progress for job seekers who have skills and experience but lack a traditional four-year degree, toward more resilient, in-demand occupations with wages above the national median.1 The highlighted occupations and all the accompanying results, including pay, skill building opportunities, and success likelihood, are tailored for this group of job seekers and uses national data from Emsi (transitions, skill, and income), Lightcast (on barriers and requirements), McKinsey Global Institute (on risk and, with Oxford Economics, on demand), and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (on unemployment).2 The tool draws on historical transitions data to show a potential path to success.3 For a policy-maker view, explore the Rework Community Insights Monitor created by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
